The Treatment

Who is Shiatsu for?

What is Shiatsu?

 Welcome

What is Shiatsu?

Shiatsu literally means "finger pressure" and can be compared with pressure point massage.

In Shiatsu therapy, pressure is applied on the meridian that needs treatment with the thumb, palm, elbow, knee or foot and stretching and circular movements are used.

Additional techniques, such as Moxa and Cupping, can also be used.

Meridians are energy channels in the body. These channels can be void, full or stagnated. When void, there is a deficiency of Qi, when full, there is an excess of Qi, and when stagnated, Qi can't flow freely.

By applying Shiatsu, it is possible to fill voids, let Qi spread out from the full areas and dissolve stagnations. The body returns to balance, with the symptoms reduced or diminished.
